Bermuda Triangle

There have been many reports of ships and aeroplanes missing in the triangular section of the North Atlantic Ocean for the last 500 years. This triangular-shaped mystery is called the Bermuda Triangle or the Devil’s Triangle. This area is under the American territory of Puerto Rico and British Overseas Territory of Bermuda; Miami, Florida, U.S.

The first disappearance was reported in the Miami Herald in 1950. However the name of the Bermuda triangle was given by Vincent Gaddis in a 1964 article. There were also many theories from scientists to amateurs that there may be sea monsters or unidentified objects (UFO) but none of them have to be the solution to this mystery.

Mary Celeste

On December 4th 1872, this American merchant ship was found adrift in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean without its crew members. The surprising thing was that the ship was in perfect condition but the only thing was missing was the only life boat of the ship. The ship set sail from New York city on Nov 7th, 1872. There were seven crew members and the captain, as well as the wife of the captain with his two year old daughter. They were never seen again according to a magazine. There were many theories about the disappearance like sea monsters, mutiny but none of them were able to prove anything.

The Voynich Manuscript is a cryptic from the 15th century text which is written in a coded or unknown language. It is a mixture of nude portraits, elegant writings and drawings of strange plants. This script has caught the attention of many linguists, researchers and cryptographers. Sadly, no one has been able to read the book. The book has been named after Wilfred M. Voynich, he was a dealer of rare books. He found the book in Jesuit Order in 1912. 

Mohenjo Daro

This is an ancient civilization which was made 4500 years ago. It was situated along the Indus river until it mysteriously collapsed. This city was unknown until 1911, when the archaeologist arrived but the excavation did not start until 1921. It was known for grid construction style and advanced drainage systems. What really happened to the people and the civilization is still unknown. The theories which define what happen to the people include sudden change in the course of the river to an attack by the invaders which had advanced weapons.
